Amy and Shaun chose lovely Shearsby Bath in Leicestershire as their wedding venue on what turned out to be the warmest April day on record! The weather on the big day was certainly a contrast to the previous two weeks which variously hurled wind, rain and snow! It was a perfect Spring day throughout.

I met up with Amy, her Mum, Jane, and bridesmaids Rowanne & Laura at the Oadby Premier Inn where they were all busy getting ready. It’s always a fun time, the champagne was flowing and the ladies were enjoying themselves as I busied myself with photographing Amy’s beautiful dress, jewellery and flowers, etc. When everyone was dressed,Amy’s dad, Andy, joined us and I made some format portraits and group photographs before heading off to Shearsby Bath to join Shaun, his Best Man, Matt & Usher, Ben.

Amy & Andy duly arrived in a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce and after a few group photographs with Andy, Rowanne & Laura, it was time for Amy and her entourage to make their entrance into the marriage room where Shaun was waiting for her. Shearsby Bath is one of my favourite wedding venues in Leicestershire. Gary, Alice & Beth and their team are super-organised yet relaxed, very friendly and obliging. A real bonus with Shearsby Bath as a Leicestershire wedding venue is that couples have exclusive use and do not have to worry about sharing their day with anyone else. This was a major factor in my recommending Shearsby Bath to my eldest son when he was married there a few years ago.

Shaun & Amy’s wedding ceremony was very intimate with a touching reading by Shaun’s brother and Best Man, Matt. There were a few people present who seemed to have something in their eye at that point! The drinks reception followed in the Orangery with unlimited unobtrusive, informal documentary photography. The formal family photographs, bridal party photography and photographs of Shaun & Amy were completed outside to make good use of the beautiful grounds at Shearsby Bath. The final photographs were a group photograph of the couple with all their guests followed by the confetti.

As with many couples, Shaun & Amy elected to have the speeches before the Wedding Breakfast. Their evening guests arrived at 7.30pm and the evening’s entertainment soon got under way with the cake cutting and the First Dance. The beautiful sunset was just asking for a few more photographs of Shaun & Amy outside to end their wedding photography.

Another perfect Shearsby Bath wedding and a perfectly lovely couple; the new Mr & Mrs Shaun & Amy Macken!
